Vajrapani is a Buddha, an enlightened being whose function is to destroy the delusions of living beings by bestowing special power on their body and mind. Normally we point to other people and say, ’They are my enemies’, but this is a mistake. Living beings cannot be our enemies; they are our mothers! Delusions – our uncontrolled, harmful thoughts – are our real enemies, and are called ‘inner obstructing demons’. These inner obstructing demons have remained within our mind since beginningless time; they have never been separate from us. Day and night, they harm us at their pleasure. We must defeat our real enemies, the delusions, and to do this, we need to receive the powerful blessings of Buddha Vajrapani.
This empowerment is a beautiful guided meditation during which we will receive the blessings of Buddha Vajrapani, the embodiment of the spiritual power of all enlightened beings. During the commentary, Gen Jigme will explain the profound tantric practice known as self-generation, through which we awaken our own potential to become an enlightened Buddha. The empowerment will take place in the morning, followed by commentary in the afternoon. This course will function as a wonderful introduction to Buddha’s teachings on Tantra or you can enjoy it simply as a blessing. Everyone is welcome.
This Blessing Empowerment will be granted by Gen Kelsang Jigme. Ordained as a monk in 1997 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, Gen Jigme has studied, practised and taught Kadampa Buddhism under Geshe Kelsang’s guidance in major Kadampa Centres throughout the UK for many years. He shows a humble, kind example as a practitioner and his clear explanations of Buddha’s teachings give us the confidence to practise them in our daily life.
Kadampa meditation is an oasis of calm in a busy world. I have learned so much, how to meditate. Thoughts are just thoughts, not facts and what I can do to improve my connection to the world we live in.
Made such a huge difference to my happiness and wellbeing
